First Time Brewing Kombucha
At our 2023 market sale our friend set up a Kombucha booth. She was a huge hit with all the customers… including my husband, Jesse. He was consuming so much of it that I thought- maybe I could learn how to brew our own over the winter. At the same time I am doing my research he starts experiencing migraines. A lightbulb moment happens and I realize that kombucha is brewed from a black (or green) tea which is full of caffeine and Jesse is sensitive caffeine. When he consumes too much (caffeine) he gets migraines.
A friend shares with me her technique on how she brews her tea to remove a good part of the caffiene. She also shares her scooby with me. We are off on our kombucha adventure in no time!!
Adventure it is! We’ve had bottles build too much pressure and pop their tops. I’ve started tea bags on fire. But! I am still very much enjoying this and trying all the flavors to see which is our favorite. Let us know if you have a favorite flavor we should try.
