Two Uses for Cayenne Peppers

We grew Cayenne Peppers for the first time this year and they did not disappoint. They are so easy and do exactly what they are suppose to do without much guidance from us. For example once the peppers turned red on the plant they took it upon themselves to start drying!! Unlike bell peppers that will start rotting.

Once we harvested the cayenne peppers we strung them up to continue drying. We want them super dry so that we can pulse them in a coffee grinder. Pulsing them in a coffee grinder then turns them into Crushed Red Pepper Flakes!

We can then run another batch and remove all the seeds. Saving those seeds to planted next year. Then grind up the flesh of the pepper super fine to make cayenne powder.
