Sugar Rush Peach Pepper

How harmless could this sweet golden peachy pepper be? Oh my word!! Let me share with you! It is sweet and innocent and then it turns real aggressive but don’t worry it loses steam quickly.

Sugar Rush Peach Peppers are very prolific. Loads of peppers on one plant. They do take most of the season to turn into this peachy color. Once they turn, they last a long time on the plant and when harvested.

I used this pepper in two ways. One was super painful to the heat sensors and one was pretty easy! Dehydrating and grinding into a powder for uses like a chili powder… that was painful!! The powder/dust from grinding went right into my sinus and the coughing and burning began. It did dry and grind beautifully. Just remember to wear a face mask & gloves. The family we got these peppers from told me (after I already ground them) that they wear goggles and a mask when de-seeding them. It’s legit heat! But the heat does not linger a long time.

The next method I did was a hot sauce. Grind up the peppers with vinegar, garlic & a bit of sugar/honey and then heat up on the stove to marry the flavors. Here is the recipe I used. Jesse was pouring the hot sauce on his burritos, eggs & chips! I will for sure make more hot sauce with these peppers. Little less painful then dehydrating and grinding.
